Paper towels

I'm not sure how long it will last but I really like the idea that this site is sponsored by "Paper Towels"

The Warehouse Theatre - DC (near Chinatown)

I have to review this one from memory because although I have peed there it was a long time ago. But I'm making an exception because I really like this place and think it is worth mentioning. From the outside it looks like a poor coffee house with limited seating, but this tiny wanna be bar is actually the portal to a large black box theatre which I'm guessing can seat about 100 people. If you ever get a chance to see a show at The Warehouse... DO IT! I have no offical affiliations with it, but I have adopted it in my heart and want it to do well.

The Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park - Glen Echo, MD

With several hundred Lindy Hoppers in the ballroom, air conditioning would be nice. Besides the Spanish Ballroom, which is a sight in itself, Glen Echo Park is home to a restored amusement park and many other artsy fartsy things which I don't have time to go into at the moment. Check it out.

Eat Well - Silver Lake, CA

This little corner diner has great food and great music. The bathroom,
however, is less enticing. They take the term "water closet" much too
literally. Its not bad... but its not great.

Grauman's Chinese Theatre - Hollywood, CA

Posh waiting area with full length mirrors and red decor. Outside the
ladies room the movie screen is huge and the theatre is amazing.
Definitely worth the trip. Make sure the ushers validate your parking.

Good Microbrew and Grill - Silver Lake, CA

Delicious microbrews, nice bathroom. Although some might mistake it for
a storage closet. I believe the staff mistakes it for a storage closet
because there is stuff stored in there. There are also at least 3 signs
pointing out where the paper towel dispenser is located. I guess that
was an issue in the past?

Airplane toilet, what can I say? Small, clean, etc. As for the flight,
I'm glad I rented the Digiplayer, it was a bumpy ride.

The Rule for Hovering

The comment left by "dancermommd" reminded me of a saying I once heard:

"If you sprinkle when you tinkle... please be neat and wipe the seat."

Come on ladies! It only takes a second and it's your own damn pee. Clean up after yourselves.

Polly's Cafe - U Street, DC

DC likes to "revitalize" it's neighborhoods one at a time. One of the most recent victims of this "painting over the ugly bits" venture is the U Street area. Elite condo's and posh restuarants interrupt the regular flow of dives and crackhouses. One of my favorite dives is Polly's.

Polly has decent priced domestic drafts and a modest but yummy menu. Unfortunately the restroom leaves much to be desired. It's not bad, considering where it is... in a dive bar in a DC basement. Anything underground in DC is bound to have some yuck... or even possibly explode on occaision.

It's a spunky little one room place with a mini-sink. It's hard to find because it's behind the kitchen staff standing around talking to each other at the end of the bar. I think it used to be a broom closet. I would say the toilet is only a cover, but anything of mine that touches the floor is definitely staying there.

DC Arts Center - Adams Morgan, DC

If you blink you might miss the DC Arts Center on that busy strip of 18th in Adams Morgan. The secret portal to this art gallery and theatre space is right next to a convenience store that sells hooka pipes. As you reach the top of the stairs you are enveloped in art from all sides. The restroom is behind the wall in front of you (take some quick left then right action). This single room bathroom has all the comforts of home, including plenty of reading material. Sometimes I just go in there to get the latest copy of "Curtain Up" or "The City Paper" there are always lots of flyers and postcards for events in the area on the spacious countertop in front of you as you sit on the throne. This summer you should check out Washington Improv Theatre's Neutrino Project. Or for other improv events in DC check out http://dc.irgo.org

Hard Times Cafe - Springfield, VA

Spitting distance from the mixing bowl, this is one of the better suburban bars around. Good food, good people, and the ability to walk right in and use the bathroom without a hassle.

It took a long time for the bartenders to notice me sitting at the bar so I don't think they would mind any of you just going in to take a piss. They have good happy hour specials including $1 domestic bottles on Tuesdays 4-8. FREE POOL 11am-5pm if you spend $8 or more.

Chloe - Adams Morgan, DC

This hip new lounge is way too cool for DC. It has a beautiful winding stairway up to the balcony/patio area, at least 3 bars, a dj in a cage, and an co-ed bathroom a la Ally McBeal. No worries, the stalls are private rooms. Clean and neat. Aesthetically pleasing. Good bathroom. Food in the restaurant is excellent. Martini prices are typical for 18th St, meaning they cost too much.
